Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace: he has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You'd like to get to know Grace better. But it's difficult, because you realize Jack and Grace are never apart. Some might call this true love.
Picture this: a dinner party at their perfect home, the conversation and wine flowing. They appear to be in their element while entertaining. And Grace's friends are eager to reciprocate with lunch the following week. Grace wants to go, but knows she never will. Her friends call—so why doesn't Grace ever answer the phone? And how can she cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim?
And why are there bars on one of the bedroom windows?
The perfect marriage? Or the perfect lie?

Can everything we see be the truth or is the real truth hidden behind closed doors? A very gripping psychological thriller by B.A Paris.

Jack and Grace are a perfectly happy couple. Newly wed and having everything a couple could possibly want, they are the envy of their friends. Jack is a successful lawyer who defends battered women. Grace is a dedicated housewife deeply loved and deeply in love with her perfect husband. He had asked her to quit her job after marriage so that they can spend every moment together and she had happily obliged. Jack has taken it upon himself to fulfill Grace’s every wish.

In this perfect portrait of a marriage, can this be true or is it only a fairy tale? In a very dark psychological thriller, the author brings to us the details of what might be happening behind closed doors.

I’ve read so many reviews for this book by GR friends. The astonishing thing is that the reviews varied greatly. While some disliked the book, others where totally amazed and opted for five stars reviews. The point is, I agree with both sides.

To be honest, the plot is not new. Moreover, it’s very predictable and at some parts even distasteful. May be this can explain the reviews that were not in favor of the book.

However, on the other side, there was something very gripping about the book. No matter how much I could predict the upcoming twists, I still wanted and enjoyed reading Behind Closed Doors. The setting of the book was very suspenseful. I liked Grace, hated Grace, felt for Grace and sometimes even wanted to yell at Grace. For all those reasons, I am on the favoring side. This is one of my favorite reads. I think it has something to do with the author’s wonderful writing style.

In fact, B.A Paris is a gifted writer. The audiobook was also amazing with the beautiful narration of Georgia Maguire. I can’t wait to read P.A Paris’s next book, The Breakdown.
